70% fail to display a strong call to action

make life easier for users

Some 89% of consumers say that they trial a competitor following a poor online experience. Some 95% of users of online devices say that a good user experience is important. But, what are the characteristics of a good user experience? This is the last of five thoughts touching on this complex issue.

Recent research found that 70% of websites fail to display a strong call to action, and most suffer as a consequence.

Other research in 2017 found that:

  • 64% of consumers want contact information on the home page
  • 44% of consumers leave a site if the contact information is not on the home page

Another study found that:

  • 86% of visitors want accessible information about the product
  • 52% of visitors want to look at the ‘About Us’ information

Another study found that:

  • 50% of visitors will use the navigation menu
  • 36% of visitors will click on the company’s logo to visit the homepage

Another study found that:

  • 90% of consumers view the content as ‘at least important’
  • 59% of consumers view the content as ‘very important’

There is no doubt that consumers visit a website for information, and research suggests that the website and the information on it need to be:

  • Actionable
  • Informative
  • Intuitive
  • Accessible

In 2018 – make life easier for users

Every year – put the facts ahead of intuition and guesswork.
