Tailored invitations are received more positively. The same is true of traditional correspondence. People tend to respond more favourably to a letter addressed ‘Dear Mrs Smith’ (given her name is Mrs Smith) and better still to ‘Dear Mary’ (given that her name is Mary) than to ‘Dear Sir/Madam’ or even ‘Good Morning’.
